The Best Life: Practical Advice
April 13, 2024

He (Jesus) included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
2 Corinthians 5:15 Message Bible

Life
The Good Life
The Far Better Life

Practical Steps To Living The Far Better Life
1. Eliminate Things That Hinder You

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1 NCV

Sins That Hold Us Back
Activities That Are A Waste of Time and Energy
Habits That Hinder Us

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not Helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
1 Corinthians 6:12 NKJV

But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go.
Ephesians 4:20-24 TEV

It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.
Ephesians 4:20-24 TEV

2. Excel In What Really Matters

You Don’t Need To Be Good At Everything
You Just Need To Be Good At What Really Matters

Manage Your Time – Your Time Matters

So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalms 90:12 NLT

Live On Purpose – Your Purpose Matters
Jeremiah 29:11
Proverbs 3:5

Establish Good Priorities – Your Priorities Matter
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:36-37

3. Embrace The New Things God Wants To Do In You

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do
a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in
the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV

IMPORTANT!!!!!!
Caution: Spiritual Stagnation Is Never Good

4. Expect Incremental Change In Your Life

Then God turned his attention to Noah and all the wild animals and farm animals with him on the ship. God caused the wind to blow and the floodwaters began to go down. The underground springs were shut off, the windows of Heaven closed and the rain quit. Inch by inch the water lowered. After 150 days the worst was over.
Genesis 8:1-3 Message

And I’ll send Despair on ahead of you. It will push the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites out of your way. I won’t get rid of them all at once lest the land grow up in weeds and the wild animals take over. Little by little I’ll get them out of there while you have a chance to get your crops going and make the land your own.
Exodus 23:28-31

And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
Mark 4:26-28

Money that comes easily disappears quickly,
but money that is gathered little by little will grow.
Proverbs 13:11 NCV

Committed and persistent work pays off;
get-rich-quick schemes are ripoffs.
Proverbs 28:20 Message

The trustworthy person will get a rich reward,
but a person who wants quick riches will get into trouble.
Proverbs 28:20 NLT

Eliminate – What Does Not Matter
Excel – In What Matters
Embrace – New Things
Expect – Slow And Steady Growth
