Coming Home For Christmas - Week 2

SPEAKER: Pastor Charlie Riley
December 13, 2025

Message Notes

Born To A Virgin

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14

Interesting Note:
Many False Religions And
Cults Claim Angelic Visitation,
But Only Christianity Has
A Virgin Birth

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,  to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.  And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Luke 1:26-28

But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.  Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
Luke 1:29-31

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.  And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Luke 1:32-33

Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I
do not know a man?”
Luke 1:33

This Is Not A Statement of Unbelief, But Of Her Reality!

As Believers,
We Don’t Deny Reality

We Deny That Our
Reality Is Permanent

We All Must Look At Our Reality Through The “Eyes Of Faith”

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:34-35

Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Luke 1:36-38

“For with God nothing
will be impossible!”

This Is God’s Perspective!!!!

“Let It Be To Me
According To Your Word”

This Is Her Great
Statement Of Faith!

Hebrews 11:6

Mary Made
The Impossible, Possible

She Believed God’s Promises

“Let It Be To Me
According To Your Word”

We Must Believe His Promises

Looking At Everything
Through The “Eyes Of Faith”

Example Of Abraham
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Romans 4:19-22

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11

When You Don’t Believe God, You Cannot Receive
When We Believe,
We Can Receive!

And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name.
Luke 1:46-49
