Week 5 – Galatians 6
October 28, 2023

Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore (To Set A Bone That Has Been Broken) such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

Heaviness, Weight, Burden or Trouble
Could Be “Sin” or “Circumstances of Life”

For if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself
“You’re Never Too Spiritual To Help Someone”

But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting, but to himself alone, and not to another. For each one will bear his own load

The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.
NKJV Galatians 6:6

The man under Christian instruction should be willing to contribute towards the livelihood of his teacher.
The Phillips New Testament Galatians 6:6

Voluntary Giving Was Revolutionary In Paul’s Day
Jews Were Taxed
Gentiles Paid Fees

Voluntary Giving Was For Three Major Purposes
Support of The Poor (Galatians 2:10)
Widows (1 Timothy 5:3-16)
Provide For Those Who Instructed others in the Word of God
(1 Corinthians 9:7-14)

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked (To Sneer or Turn Up The Nose) for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.
Galatians 6:7

The Law of Reciprocity
“Sowing and Reaping”
“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest,…
Genesis 8:22a

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
2 Corinthians 9:6

For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction (Decay) from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life (Zoe) from the Spirit.
Galatians 6:8

Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Galatians 6:9-10

See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!
NKJV Galatians 6:11

Possibly A Figure of Speech
“According to centuries-old Eastern usage, this could easily mean, ‘Note how heavily I have pressed upon the pen in writing this.’ Thus it could be translated, ‘Notice how heavily I underlined these words to you.’”

**The scholar J.B. Phillips

Could Also Mean Hand Written Pages Were Long**

All who want to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
NKJV Galatians 6:12

“Some men are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do these things, so that the Jewish people will accept them, fearing they will be persecuted, if they follow only the cross of Christ.”
Simple English Bible Galatians 6:12

For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves (Complete Hypocrisy), but they want to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.
NKJV Galatians 6:13

But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
NKJV Galatians 6:14

True Men of God Make Their Boast In God, Not Themselves!!!

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And all who will follow this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
NKJV Galatians 6:15-16

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
NKJV Galatians 6:17-18

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be [a]accursed.
Galatians 1:8

knowing that a man is not [a]justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:16

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
Galatians 3:13

Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:7

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And all who will follow this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
NKJV Galatians 6:15-16
