Q1: Please explain Galatians 5:2. What did Paul mean by “Christ will be of no advantage”?

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Q2: All over the New Testament we are told that good works, although important, are not necessary to gain or keep salvation. However, James 2 seems to say otherwise. Please explain why this passage is not a contradiction.

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
