Ephesians: Chapter 2

Ephesians Chapter 1
I Am Blessed
I Am Chosen
I Am Predestined
I Am Adopted
I Am Accepted
I Am Redeemed
I Am Sealed
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
Who You Was
Who You Are Now
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience
The Past – “Once Walked”
According To The Prince And Power of The Air
The Spirit That Is Now At Work In The Disobedient
among whom also we all once conducted ourselves (In The Past) in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
It Is Not Our Individual Acts of Sin That Make Us Sinners!
It Is Our Sin Nature That Makes Us Commit Individual Acts of Sin
Salvation is Not a Matter of Stopping Sin;
Salvation Is About Having A New Nature!
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus
Made Us Alive (KJV – Quickened)
Aorist Tense – You Are Already Were
This Is Your True Location and Position of Authority
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace (undeserved, unmerited favor toward us) you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Grace – God’s Part
Faith – Your Part
Faith And Salvation Are Gifts From God To You
Forgiveness of Sins, Healing, Prosperity, Protection and Deliverance
The Perfect Tense
Was Done and Completed In The Past
Yet Continues To Have Present Results
For we are His workmanship (“Greek – poiema”), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands — that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
The Blood of Jesus Has Provided
Forgiveness of Sins (Ephesians 1:7)
A New Heart (Jeremiah 31:33-34)
Mercy Toward Unrighteousness (Hebrews 8:12)
Justification (Romans 5:9)
Eternal Redemption (Hebrews 9:12)
Intimate Relationship with God (Hebrews 8:11)
Deliverance from a Worthless Kind of Life (1 Peter 1:18-19)
Peace with God (Colossians 1:20)
The Putting Away of Sin (Hebrews 9:26)
Continual Cleansing (1 John 1:7)
A Cleansed Conscience (Hebrews 9:14)
Deliverance from the Law (Ephesians 2:15)
Reconciliation (Ephesians 2:16)
Access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18)
A Perfect Standing Before God (Colossians 1:22)
The Spoiling of Principalities and Powers (Colossians 2:15)
Christian Liberty (Galatians 5:1)
Healing for the Physical Body (Matthew 8:17)
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished (Greek katargeo – entirely useless) in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace
and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
