Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Possibly The Enemies Number One Weapon

Unforgiveness: Refusal To Let Go of An Offense

There are two ways we can live:
Looking Behind Or Looking Ahead

The Key To Putting The Past Behind Us Is Forgiveness

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Philippians 3:13-14
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

2 Facts
1. Our Destiny In God Is In Our Future, Not Our Past
2. The Enemy’s Goal Is To Steal Your Future by Making You Dwell In Your Past

You don’t have a “RIGHT” to be wounded,
but you have “THE RIGHT” to be healed

What Does Healed Look Like, Sound Like and Talk Like?

What Forgiveness Does In Our Lives

1. Forgiveness: Closes The Door To The Enemy
Unforgivness: Opens A Door To The Enemy

Ephesians 4:26-27
26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil.

Ephesians 4:30-32
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

2. Forgivness: Releases You From A Prison
Unforgivness: Betrays You, By Putting You Into Prison

The Great Betrayer Says:
You Hurt Me, So I’m Hurting You By Not Forgiving You

II Samuel 16:22
He hated Amnon for being a rapist.
He didn’t forgive Amnon and Absalom became a rapist himself.

He hated David, and David had killed someone: Urias.
Absalom didn’t forgive David and he became a murderer himself. He killed Amnon (II Sam. 13:28)

Whatever you hate in a person, if you don’t forgive, you will become that very thing you hate.

Genesis 50:20
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

How To Forgive

1. Know That You Are Forgiven!
Believe and Receive It

Psalms 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Hebrews 10:16-18
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

2. Make The Choice To Forgive
Not A Feeling, But By Faith

Romans 5:6
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

3. Make Forgiveness A Lifestyle

Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude.
Martin Luther King Jr.

Lamentations 3:22-23
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

4. Prepare

 Yourself To Forgive

Psalm 86:5
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
