Psalm 91 – Part 2
Divine Protection

Divine Protection is Possibly The Most Precious Promise That Is Not Taught To Christians

The More We Remind Ourselves of the Lord’s Daily Protection,
The More Our Faith In His Protection Will Grow In Our Lives

Ps 91:1-6
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

Verse 7
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.

Verse 8
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Verse 9
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge (Hebrew – chacah),
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,

Ps 118:8
It is better to trust (Hebrew – chacah) in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.

Ps 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

Cities of Refuge

6 Cities of Refuge In Deuteronomy 19:4-5
“And this is the case of the manslayer who flees there, that he may live:
Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, not having hated him in time past— as when a man goes to the woods with his neighbor to cut timber, and his hand swings a stroke with the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and strikes his neighbor so that he dies—he shall flee to one of these cities and live;

Joshua 20:7-8
So they appointed Kedesh (Hebrew-Sanctuary) in Galilee, in the mountains of Naphtali, Shechem (Shoulder) in the mountains of Ephraim, and Kirjath Arba (which is Hebron) (Hebron -Friendship or Fellowship) in the mountains of Judah. And on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer (Fortress) in the wilderness on the plain, from the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth ( Heights or Highly Exalted) in Gilead, from the tribe of Gad, and Golan (Rejoicing or Joy) in Bashan, from the tribe of Manasseh.

In Order of Appearance
You can find sanctuary (Kadesh) on the Lord’s strong shoulders (Shechem), which He offers in fellowship (Hebron). He is our fortress (Bezer) and He highly exalts (Ramoth) us above all our troubles with great rejoicing (Golan).

Verse 10
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

Verse 11-12
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

Ps 103:20-21
Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.

Satan

Matthew 4:5-7
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Proverbs 3:6-7
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

When Fear Grips Your Heart or Evil Thoughts Plague Your Mind,
Quote His Written Word! It Is Written!!!

Verse 13
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Luke 10:18-19
And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Verse 14
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

Ex 10:21-23
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

Verse 15
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.

Verse 16
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Joshua 14:10-12
And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.12 Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”
