Q2. Growing up I was always told and believed a sin was a sin, there were no different levels of sin. Is that true or are there different levels or forms of sin?
Mortal Sin (Major Sins) Vs. Venial Sins (Minor Sins)

All Sin Is Detestable Before God
All Sin Deserves and Demands Eternal Punishment
All Sin Is NOT Equal In Relation To Ourselves and Others

SIN – Noun – The Entity of Sin (ORIGINAL SIN)
SIN – Verb – The Action of Sin
Q3. In Psalm 51 David asked to be washed from his iniquity & cleansed from his sin. What is the difference between iniquity & sin?
Psalm 51:2
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
2 Samuel 11:1-3
It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.
Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”
Sin (Simple Act) – The Act of Sleeping With Bathsheba
Iniquity (Planning And Scheming) – Deeply Rooted Fleshly Desires Led to Adultery and Then Murder
Q4. Why is David called a man after God’s own heart, even though he messed up so badly so many times?
1 Samuel 13:14
But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
David Knew God’s Heart
The Lord Was His Rock
The Lord Was His Shepherd
The Lord Was the Light of His Salvation
The Lord Was His Strength and Shield
The Lord Is Who He Trusted
Q4. In Romans, Paul writes on not being a stumbling block for your brothers. Does this mean we should abide by other interpretations of the Bible when around people from different denominations of the faith? Ex: Don’t eat pork around a person following Judaism. Or don’t smoke/drink at all around people who have those addictions.
Romans 14:13-23
Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
Q5. Are strongholds and idols the same thing?
No
Idols – Are Objects
Strongholds – Are In The Mind
Q6. What are strongholds of the mind? How do you identify and rid yourself of them?
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Q7. Is it selfish to pray for yourself?
James 5:13-15
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Q8. I have people around me all the time ask me to tell them about Jesus. I usually don’t even know where to start. Where would be a good place to start with someone who wants to accept Jesus?
Start With Questions
What’s Your Spiritual Background?
Do You Go To Church?
Are You Saved?
Do You Love God?
Do You Believe The Bible?
Do You Believe Jesus Came and Died On The Cross For Your Sins?
